This scoping review provides an overview of the characteristics of empirical research on Finnish teacher educators published between 2012 and early 2025. Methodologically, small-scale interview studies with cross-sectional and often cross-national designs were the most prevalent among 90 identified studies. (pdf)

Free play is recognized in early childhood education and care as a crucial form of learning, and children’s disposition to engage in play is termed playfulness. The emphasis that free play places on children’s autonomy and self-control raises questions about teachers’ roles in this learning environment to encourage children’s engagement in play.

Vetenskapsrådet beviljar sammanlagt 83 miljoner kronor till två nya forskarskolor vid Linnéuniversitetet. Forskarskolorna fokuserar på utvecklingen av läs- och skrivundervisning i de tidiga skolåren, samt på att stärka forskningsbasen i yrkeslärarprogrammen.
