Skolverkets riktade insatser i syfte att förbättra mottagandet och undervisningskvaliteten för nyanlända och elever med annat modersmål än svenska ledde till högre resultat på de nationella proven i matematik och svenska. Insatserna var behovsanpassade och bestod av kompetensutveckling för lärare och stöd till skolledning i kommuner med stort flyktingmottagande (pdf).
