This article elaborates an intra-active approach to action research, with examples from a recently started action research project carried out in collaboration with three preschools.

I artikeln studeras en bildskapande aktivitet som ett exempel på undervisning i svensk förskola. Vad som utmärker denna undervisningsaktivitet och vilken estetik, i betydelsen konstsyn, som barnen socialiseras in i analyseras.

Artikeln bygger på teorier om dokumentationen som en normaliserande makt i interaktion med enskilda subjekts egna agens. Genom att lyssna till hur 19 förskolebarn mellan 4–6 år interagerar med pedagogisk fotodokumentation eftersträvas i studien att fånga barnens egna perspektiv.

The aim of the present study was to investigate the associations between social-emotional and language development in a sample of 3–5-year-old children in community-based early childhood education and care (N = 90). The results showed that language development was linked to the children’s social-emotional development and theory of mind ability.
