How dyslexia changes in other languages
Alex parents were native English speakers, and the family lived in Japan, so Alex spoke English at home, and Japanese at school. At the age of 13, however, Alex was diagnosed with dyslexia. The results were a shock. To researchers, the even bigger surprise was his performance in the other language he used. When he was tested in Japanese, his literacy was not just good. It was excellent.
